Key Features
- Vessel Description
This high speed trawler was custom ordered for her previous owners' previous owners from Offshore with some design modifications that that became standard in later builds. She combines the long legs of an economical trawler (850 miles at displacement speed) with the cruising speed of a motor yacht when desired. The one level design is typical of much larger motoryachts but with center line helms on both levels, and an unobstructed view from the captain's pilothouse chair to the stern, she is a serious helmsman's delight and with her fine entry, she is extremely sea kindly.
You enter this vessel through tide rider stairs and gunwale openings port and starboard at the pilothouse doors, or from the California deck aft. Entering aft, you arrive on a 4' wide swim platform with concealed swim ladder, shower, and storage hatches underfoot. Twin 50 amp 220V shore power hookups are aft and forward as well as a Cablemaster aft. Fresh and seawater hose bibs are concealed here along shore water hookup, cable and phone hookups. Stairs both port and starboard lead to the California deck with gates to provide security for small children or pets. The aft deck has a bench seat with storage under. To port, lockers conceal storage, an icemaker, and a sink. To starboard is the aft steering station and the secondary access to the flybridge.
Double sliding doors lead to the spacious salon and allow the two spaces to become one in temperate weather. A leather U shaped couch is to port with twin adjustable height coffee tables which also double in size for entertaining. Offshores are known for their vast storage and this is evident here with drawers under the seating and to starboard as well. In the aft corner to starboard is the entertainment system. The sound system is wired throughout the boat and is adjustable in all staterooms, common rooms and exterior areas. The 25" TV is to starboard and can be seen from the salon as well as the galley which is forward to port. Two KVH satellite antennas provide redundancy and the signal is wired to all TVs and monitors aboard.
The galley, located adjacent port side has a side by side refrigerator freezer forward with ice and water in the door, 3 burner electric glass top stove, conventional oven below and microwave above. Aft is the sink with built in sprayer and a separate water faucet supplying filtered water at the galley sink and refer. A full size dishwasher is inboard of the sink. A spice rack is cleverly concealed tucked into the port deckhouse wall with a bank of deep drawers immediately forward. Plenty of storage to starboard provide ample galley space for extended cruising as well as additional counter space to serve as a buffet service area.
The pilothouse is forward of the galley and the teak and holly floor in the galley continues forward through the pilothouse. Cherry woodwork graces the bulkheads and cabinetry with a wood inlay in the sea rails. This woodwork continues throughout the vessel. A pair of Ultra Leather helm chairs matches the galley dinette just aft. The galley table doubles in size and the helm chairs can be turned so that there is comfortable seating for five. Pilothouse doors on each side provide quick access to the walk around side decks making operating the vessel with a husband wife team very easy. A second access to the flybridge is to starboard. Note the handrail on each side of the stairs which is typical on all stairs throughout the vessel for safety. Additional safety features include red safety step lights on all stairs and the side decks as well. Offshores are also noteworthy for their emergency egress in each cabin providing a second escape if necessary. Halon automatic and manual fire extinguishing and auto shutdown for gens and mains is standard as well.
Guest cabins are forward with a marine queen bed in the forward stateroom, twin bunks in a stateroom to port and a full width Queen VIP cabin aft with it's own private head. All 4 heads aboard were upgraded to Headhunter. All cabins have their own TV and DVD players. The washer dryer units are conveniently located here in the companionway.
The full beam king master stateroom has its own private entrance aft and is accessed from the main salon.
Although this vessel is designed to be operated without crew, an additional cabin is provided aft if you desire a captain or mate aboard. This cabin is located in the lazerette and is accessed from the California deck. It consists of a single bunk with toilet and sink. Although this is a small cabin, it still has all the amenities, with air and heat, its own operable port light, piped in stereo and the TV source is wired from both Satellite receivers aboard. A 10 station intercom keeps all stateroom and common areas connected as well as providing phone service via land line or cellular phone.
The flybridge like the main deck is all on one level with seating forward for seven. The large bimini allows for a choice of sun or shade and the large boat deck aft gives plenty of sunning area. Concealed in the cabinetry are an electric grill, sink and refrigerator with icemaker.
Now on to the things that please the Captain. The stand up engine room with 6'6" of clearance, the stainless storage lockers above each engine, the Reverso oil changer that connects to mains, transmissions and gens, the double Racor filters, the list goes on and on. The redundancy on this vessel is truly amazing. AC Headhunter water pump with automatic 12 volt back up pump.
The battery bank charges off an oversized alternator on the port engine and charges from the gens, and charges from the 4000 watt square sign wave inverter, and has a standard battery charger backup. Water heaters are heated both with 220 volt and by heat exchangers from the engines. The fully automatic 800 gpd water maker was recently serviced and membranes replaced.
Navigation is by Nobletec displayed on 17 & 15" monitors. A full size chart drawer in the pilothouse stores the paper chart backups. The Furuno 72 mile radar is repeated on the flybridge. Depth sounders are repeated and duplicated with down view Simrad and forward seeking Probe sonar. These can be operated simultaneously allowing for uninterrupted bottom information. And this vessel is designed with a sacrificial skeg which protects your propellers and warns you of shallow water before your props touch bottom. A recent addition to this vessel is a FLIR Mariner thermal imaging camera which allows viewing your surroundings in total darkness with remote control at both stations. The thermal image can be displayed on a split screen on the navigation monitor or shown separately on a portable monitor that can be used at either helm. The satellite TV can also be shown split screen on the monitors and still use the navigation computer.
Bridge clearance on this vessel is 28' with the antennas up, 22' with the antennas down, and 16' 4" with the hinged arch lowered making it Great Circle capable. The arch can be lowered in just a few minutes either by hand or using the 1500 lb davit with the hinged extension and that hinged extension allows for safe and easy extraction of the spare set of props from the lazerette.
Combined with the 5' draft and one mile per gallon fuel consumption at displacement speeds as well as a cruising speed of 17 knots, this is truly an exceptional vessel.
